Indianapolis, IN, Franciscan Health Alliance, a regional health system with 12 hospitals and 20,000 full and part-time employees serving patients in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its Epic EHR migration to the Azure cloud. This marks the culmination of a 16-month journey and a significant milestone in Franciscan Health’s comprehensive cloud strategy aimed at achieving scalability, resiliency, efficiency, enhanced security, optimized data access, and improved patient outcomes.
Following our previous announcement regarding the initiation of this ambitious project, Franciscan Health partnered with Infinite Computer Solutions, Inc., and OptaFi, LLC to make this vision a reality. OptaFi, a joint venture launched in 2022 between Sentara Healthcare and Infinite, spearheaded the architecture and design, built out of various Epic environments, install and configure of Epic software, historical data migration from existing hosting platform and the integration of various software components required for patient care. Throughout this extensive process, the dedicated team tackled and overcame numerous challenges, ensuring all quality and security measures were meticulously met.
